It includes a home assessment, energy modelling, and an EnerGuide label that rates your home’s efficiency. This label helps you understand where your home stands and how to improve it.

The assessment checks your home’s insulation, windows, heating and cooling systems, and other energy features.  

During the evaluation, our energy advisors will:  

• Review  your home, including windows, doors, walls, ceilings, and foundation.  
• Measure insulation levels and surface areas.  
• Assess your heating, cooling, ventilation, and hot water systems.  
• Conduct a blower door test to measure air leaks.  
• Perform a depressurization test if needed to check for combustion issues.  
• Measure air changes per hour at 50 pascals of pressure.  
• Identify areas where air leaks the most.  
• Compare your home’s energy efficiency to a 2020 National Building Code standard.
• Provide upgrade recommendations with estimated energy savings.  
• Issue an EnerGuide rating and label for your home’s current energy performance.

After the evaluation, you’ll receive:  

• An EnerGuide rating label showing your home’s energy consumption in gigajoules (GJ) per year.  
• A detailed report on your home’s current energy use.  
• A Renovation Upgrade Report with personalized recommendations for upgrades that save the most energy, money, and improve comfort.  

If you’re planning energy-efficient improvements, a follow-up evaluation may be needed to show how the upgrades have boosted your home’s energy performance. This is useful for selling your home or applying for rebates on energy-efficient upgrades.

Once you receive your report, you can start making changes to improve energy efficiency. This might include sealing air leaks, adding insulation, upgrading windows, or replacing old heating and cooling systems. Your report will prioritize these improvements based on cost-effectiveness.
