OEM, or Original Equipment Manufacturer, refers to parts that are made by the same brand or manufacturer that made your appliance.  

Today there are many low-cost aftermarket parts available for every brand of appliance on the market, but choosing a cheaper option can be dicey. There are no guarantees that these off-brand parts are going to work at an optimal level with your appliances.
