Fixed electricity rate
For every kWh of electricity you use, the fixed price is an all-in rate that your consumption will be based on. Because your consumption will vary from month to month, your energy charge will vary, but the unit price won’t!
A fixed electricity price is a stable rate option that gives you predictability for the term of your plan. When the market fluctuates, your price per kWh remains constant.
The fixed price is ideal for customers wishing to minimize volatility in their energy charges from month to month.
Floating electricity rate
The price of electricity on the market fluctuates every hour and appears on your bill as a weighted monthly average. With our Floating Rate Plan, your rate follows the market and can fluctuate up and down based on several factors like supply, demand, and the weather.
The floating electricity rate is suitable for customers who are comfortable with some variability in their rates in exchange for potential savings when market prices are low.

Choose a fixed or floating natural gas rate for 1, 2, 3 or 5 years.
Fixed natural gas rate
A fixed natural gas rate won’t fluctuate when the market changes. It’s a stable rate option that gives you predictability for the term of your plan. When the market fluctuates, your price per GJ remains constant.
For every GJ of natural gas you use, the Fixed Price is an all-in rate that your consumption will be charged on. Because the amount of natural gas you use will vary from month-to-month, your energy charge will vary, but the unit price won’t.
The fixed rate is ideal for customers who might not mind paying a bit more in exchange for stability in their energy every month.
Floating natural gas rate
Natural gas prices fluctuate every month as the actual market price changes.
With our Floating Rate Plan, what you pay for natural gas (per GJ) will rise or fall each month based on market activity. Your natural gas rate is based on a temperature-weighted average flow-through of the market price, which tends to rise during colder months when demand for heating increases.
The floating natural gas rate is suitable for customers who are willing to experience monthly ups and downs in their energy bills in exchange for potential savings over time.

You can choose to supplement your electricity plan by making it green.
Green energy comes from renewable sources like hydro, wind, and solar. The creation of electricity through these sources creates a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC), which is a means of controlling the finite inventory of electrons that were generated.
As a consumer, you can select from 25% or 100% of your electricity plan from ATCO Energy to come from renewable sources for a small premium. The green premium is charged on your consumption in kWh.
Based on your selected green percentage, your consumption is calculated to ensure you’ve been allocated the right amount of green energy and that the RECs are retired on your behalf.

We’re proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta as their Official Energy and Home Services Supplier. Built on a longstanding relationship, this partnership has contributed $250,000 in energy and home services support, helping local families access affordable housing and turning new houses into lasting homes.
1Offer for new customers only who have not had an active site with ATCO Energy within the last 6 months. Eligible natural gas sites will be credited up to $200 towards natural gas energy charges plus the 36 cents/day gas administration charge per site during the promotional period of June 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026. You must maintain two active sites (1 natural gas and 1 electricity) with ATCO Energy and remain in good standing throughout the promotional period to receive and retain this promotion. If the minimum site requirement is not maintained, the free gas and admin fee credits will cease immediately. Standard rates and fees apply outside of the promotional period. This offer ends June 1, 2026 and may be modified or discontinued at our discretion.
2The quarterly $50 rebate program requires an active account and good financial standing for 90 days prior, with rebates being applied when a service is completed and expiring at the end of each quarter. Rebates cannot be combined with other quarterly rebates or carried forward to subsequent periods. Furnace Family Maintenance Plans subscriptions are not eligible to be covered by your quarterly rebate and are billed separately. This program may be modified or discontinued at our discretion. Additional terms and restrictions may apply.
Delivery related charges, taxes, monthly administration or daily flat fees for each electricity or natural gas site are extra. Distribution costs, taxes and miscellaneous charges are dependent on usage and service area and will remain applicable regardless of the retailer you choose.
